Bishop Dr. Phillip Dukes

He veered far from his upbringing in his teens and twenties becoming a major dealer and addict. In his early thirties he returned to his disciplined upbringing. Despite his body being ravaged by his desolate lifestyle Dukes achieved his doctorate and became a Bishop in his church. Today Dr. Dukes is an activist against gun violence and mentors youngsters to avoid making the mistakes that he did.
Arlene describes herself as a humble, but firm and fearless, activist and advocate who seems to always step up passionately against issues of social and political injustice. A founding member of the Committee Against Gun Violence (2013), Partner Organizations Against Sex Trafficking (2014), and the Haitian American Culture Collaborative (2018), she is now a participant in the Racial Equity Initiative. Since 2012 she has been a board member of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the National Organization for Women and a member of the League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County fighting for women’s rights, registering voters, and ending gun violence. She helps create and participates in rallies, demonstrations, and programs that give voice for vulnerable populations and educate for environmental protection.
